Tips in Buying a Copier!

Tips on What Copiers To Buy.

I will make it simple...

1st Question will be... what is it that you require?  You have to consider always how are you going to use the machine, will it be low copy volume, average copy volume or high copy volume per month?
  • If your office is a small one, a 15 cpm to 25cpm will be perfect for your office.
  • If your office is having more users and from time to time need some print outs or copies, then settle for a medium machine which will be from 25cpm up to 40cpm.
  • If your using it as commercial purposes such as Copy Centers, or big corporations, I suggest a high end Copiers should be used from 40cpm above.
2nd Question  will be... Ask for some technical specification such as Lifetimes of Consumables. Consumables are Drum, Developers, Toners. (Some brands are no longer or not using Developer.-- this machine are called Mono-Component).

Kyocera KM series
Kyocera FS series
Error Codes!!!    What does it Means?!.

Problem Codes or Error Codes that appears on your Copier Machine means something. And this information is very important when you will log a service request to your supplier. But what does it means?

FYI... Error codes are Self Diagnostic Function in a copier machine so that the problem can be identified easily. Thus reporting the corresponding Error Codes, or Problem Codes will help. This will diminish the service breakdown of the machine. Error codes has a  corresponding section in a machine, your service technican can bring the necessary parts that the machine might need.

I will be posting the most common problem or TOP 5 common problem on KM series. And to start with,

KM series  machine Top 5 Problem

  1. C 6000.    Technically speaking, this problem is the Fixing Unit, wherein the thermistor of the unit is defective. But the most common to this problem is due to fluctuation of current. Or worst, when your machine is using a 220 volts and you fix it on 110 volts line

... stay tuned....

Sending you this Greetings to bring you Hope and Joy on this Joyous occasion.
Wishing you a Happy New Year

The Copiers!

From small offices, to medium scale business to large scale businesses, Copiers are the most common catch of the eye. And when it breaks down, believe me you will burst up high because when you need it the most... your machine could be not functioning properly.

And the quickest way you can do is to dial the hotline service number of your service provider. And let the expert do the job.

But what about if the problem is just as simple as ABC.

The Easy Way --  is to check it out what can we do first.

First things first... Identify the problem that you encounter. (Don't panic) It could be a minor thing only.

In identifying your Copier problem... have a look at the panel board. Now these days copiers are built with large screen and touch screen (not on all models). And with a wizard screen on what is to be done.. that's the cool part. You will see it at ease on the panel.

Most Common Problem to Copiers. Which can be Fix by YOU or your operator or anyone else in your office. This is as easy as ABC.

  • Paper Jam
    • Locate the paper jam (see the panel board, RED LED's blinking and the location is indicated where is the Jam Paper.
    • Open the cover/front or left/right accordingly and Remove the Jam paper as illustrated in the Panel Board.
    • Close the cover and your machine should be working in good order. EASY!

  • Toner Empty
    • Replace toner. EASY! It is advisable to have a spare of Toner for your machine. Don't wait for the machine to be out of order due to Toner. These are consumables.
    • WARNING!!! Always buy ORIGINAL TONER for your machine (please check from your supplier). Using Duplicate toner will only worsen the condition of your Photo-copier and will cost you more when you use a duplicate toner.

  • Call For Service
    • This "Call For Service" is definitely for Copier Techinicians, you are thereby advise to call your Service Representative to deal with this problem and to inform what kind of Service Code appearing on the Panel Board.
    • The Easy Way to resolve the problem .... is to RESET your machine by Turning it OFF/ON ... Digital machine now these days can be reset and will conduct Self Test. If the problem persist, thats the time you have to call your Service Representatives
These are the common problems that arise with customer, and I will be posting some more tips ... do come back for more. We are currently improving this site.. your comment, reply, and suggestion will be very helpful.

Greetings to my fellow Copier Technicians who are working around the globe. Let us enrich our knowledge by sharing our ideas.

I have created this blog for us to interact. Perhaps its time for us to get along and share some tips and ideas to our fellow technicians who are in need as well. After all, they can help us somehow in  their expertise.

But I will start with the blog on Customers or Operators in regards to the use of their Digital Copiers. Like what are the common problem that they encounter. And what can they do before dialing the Hot Line for their Service Center (in their respective area/country).

So lets start blogging our ideas and tips...
